I promise to actually post real life stuff when real life is actually less stressy and angsty. Because right now, it's Stress-and-Angst Central. Seriously, you don't wanna hear that. I promise you. Hell, I don't even wanna hear that. *makes face*

That said, I loooove you all and thank you for the fact that you keep reading. The end of October will bring me and Anissa to the mountains and hopefully a little respite before I get body-slammed into the Christmas season. Which I don't even want to consider after how insane SUMMER was, which never happens.

I have updated the index in various places to reflect current chapters and have been doing constant research on the comics. Why is it so damn hard to find stuff with Donna Troy in trade at the freaking library? They have a ton of the newer trades, but nothing on the original Titans. I get this feeling that I'm going to just have to break down and buy the damn things because I'm not going to take the chance of screwing up canon entirely.

That said, I'm going to put on riot-gear and head off to work. They need to get the drama worked out there soon or I'm going to be the next one out the door. I'm about over the hostile work environment until they get rid of those they want to shed.

*stalks off grumbling*

Dear Job,

If you are going to make changes and clean house, I suggest you do so shortly so that the rest of your poor over-worked employees don't have a heart attack waiting for it to be done. It makes people who are not under the microscope paranoid and scared to even come to work while the one causing the problem continues to make it worse. Also, it makes already-low morale even lower when we know who needs to go, they're lingering, doing nothing, and you're bitching at those of us taking up the slack. Seriously, if you're going to do it, JUST DO IT.

Also, find a way to interview transfers. Please, because it's just more dead-weight we can't afford, literally and figuratively, at a time like this. And make sure, please, that they are actually trained in the areas we hired them to work in. Because, again, it makes the work twice as hard on the long-timers who are struggling to do the work of three people as it is.

I'm really wondering just how much further you can push the oldies in this building before we walk. And then who will you have to run things?

You want to see how far you can push it?

No Love,
Me

I'll be in the corner, smoking a clove and pounding down a Rockstar and trying not to fall asleep on my feet.

I swear, some day I will find a way to not have to work again unless I want to. And yep, the job is the reason for the lack of updates beyond writing.

I'm not even going into the nightmare I walked into straight back from vacation.

God bless my muse and the ability to write and plot under almost any circumstances. There are days when it's the only thing that gets me through.
kalalanekent: (Lois :: Horror)
How has this week been?

Let's ask a far-future member of the LS crew.

[Yep, someone's been watching Lost Girl and someone has plaaaaaans.]

ETA: Nevermind. Work is out for the night. Couldn't tell them the real reason for the call-out, but they wouldn't understand. Panic attacks suck and I'm never 100% right afterwards. Takes several hours for me to get right again and I can't do that at Customer Service. Also, didn't post this for sympathy. People should know that this is a thing that happens and it's real and it's horrible and you really have no control over it. It's especially bad when you work in the service industry. This isn't just a 'suck it up and deal' kinda thing. There's really not much that can control mine and even meds don't always keep it at bay. Just some food for thought.
kalalanekent: (Lois :: Laugh)
When you work in a madhouse, why is it that people expect you to answer with something other than "It was over too fast" when they ask how your vacation was? *snorfle*

Don't we ALL answer it that way?

Now I just have to hold on until Fall for my next big one. Here's hoping my plans work out the way I want them to.

*crosses fingers*

Go to Anissa's post and read all about it.  Not included: Lois' work-related fuckery.  It's the biggest retail holiday of the year coming up!  Guess which fucktard manager is trying to cut hours and not hire any new seasonal employees!  Guess which crew is ready to kill him, each other, and the customers!  (Why yes, this WAS posted by Anissa.  Two f-bombs in three sentences was your hint.)

*This is Lois dropping in about eight hours after the fact. Yeah, it's been pretty bad over here the last few weeks. I hate that we're blowing deadlines left and right, but the stress has been just too damn much lately. Between the both of us being sick and Anissa's dad being worse and worse off and things at my job being worse than insane, nothing has really gotten done on the current stories. It's just been enough to beat the hell out of some of our muses.

This isn't to say that we don't plan to be back to the grind shortly, but it may take a little longer. There's no plan to drop everything, and I have gotten a couple of questions about that from some fandom quarters, but it may be a little closer to Christmas before everything is back in complete order. I hate it, but it honestly can't be helped at the moment.

Yes, it's that bad over here right now. I hadn't planned to share, but being this disorganized isn't like me and I didn't want to keep my readers and friends and family hanging. So nope, I'm not going anywhere. The writing will be back, but maybe a little slower than I'd like. And yeah, rough times. We'll survive this. We always do. *winks at [livejournal.com profile] saavikam77

Still not clear for regular duty, but the knee is healing slowly but surely. Enough that I can do half-shifts and stand now. I TOLD them that it was more than a little bruise. I seemed to have really sprained it pretty damn good. *grumps*

Anyway, got clear for a four-hour shift tonight and looks like I'm doing paperwork of some stripe when I get in. Dunno. Probably for workman's comp. Have I mentioned that I hate paperwork? *groan* But hey, it's more hours on the check and I really need it. Especially since we're going to have to celebrate Anissa's birthday late now.

Well, we'll see how it goes. :D

So I woke up with the knee in pain this morning, enough that I was hurting the minute I was on it. SO. Guess who spent the day at the workman's comp doctor?

There were all kinda of mix-ups and a bit of driving in circles before that happened, quite on par with an episode of your favorite sit-com, but the end result?

I sprained it. And good, too.

So I got the news that I'll be off tomorrow and Thursday to rest it, be back for a short shift sitting down in Bridal Friday night to print registries and that's all, be off Saturday to rest it again, and will work Sunday the same as Friday. We'll be back next Monday for a check-up.

It's good news that they're going to let me do this, actually, and I'll still have some hours in without aggravating the knee worse. And the doc was awesome. And a customer, turns out. I'm hurting, but she's got me on good meds.

But yeah. Alive and on workman's comp.

Annnnd why did I agree to work Friday when I'm off Saturday? After four days on the road non-stop? Because I'm STOOPID, that's why. We got in VERY late Wednesday night and slept most of yesterday. I still have to get everything back in order and catch up to the F-List. We seriously haven't even unpacked yet.

Yep, should have requested today, too.

Why is it that, just when you're to the point that you want to ask for less hours, they start giving you more? No, really, go spoil someone else. I don't want it. Especially when you want me to do it ALONE most of the time.

Fail. Just fail.

Work might not entirely suck, I have a few fic I'm waiting with baited breath for, and plotting and planning for the fic for the rest of this year and next is going swimmingly. We also have an epic!closing party to start planning for next month. Here's hoping that no one can smish this mood I'm in.

*looks dubious as a thought occurs* Oh, yeah. I have to go to work. That could be a problem.

*thinks a little more, shrugs* Ah, to hell with work. I'm gonna stay on this cloud, bb!
