It doesn't really help that the chapter I'm in the process of writing I've had to nearly physically hold them back (I'm almost thinking about having him/them get splashed with some metaphorical cold water at this point so that they can have an important conversation before they have fun... then again I've just built a HUGE amount of tension into the Newlywed's dinner and Kissing Contest so maybe I just need to let them have a release valve first.)
If it makes you feel any better, most of our love scenes are started WAAAAY in advance. Like, sometimes as much as a year. We'd work on it a little and write the chapter, work on it a little and write the chapter. There's one coming up that we started before LS ended and have been working on bit by bit ever since.
It's not that I don't want them to it's just they still need to talk some things over or else there's going to be lingering questions in his mind and I don't think that's a healthy thing for them (then again it is a bit realistic).
Oh, no, what I'm suggesting is to write it out in a separate file, let them get it out of their systems, and hold that scene aside until you get where you want to place it in the story.
It's realistic, but still. If he's got issues, work it out before you get to the love scene. Plot before porn.
