I think Tess is another character that has things in common with canon, despite not being canon herself. She really has a great deal of Waller in her in that there's not good or evil, only shades of grey. No right or wrong, only survival of the human race at any cost. And that's what I love about her. People can talk all the noise they want; I find her a more than worthy successor to Lex. I'd like to see her fight on the boys' side, but I never want her to truly be black or white.
I hate that we won't get him back. It sucks. It sucks worse that Rosenbaum wouldn't come back just for one more season to give it the send-off that it deserves. They really didn't have any choice.
Actually, I think they're trying to wrap up Lois' issues about her past before they move her forward to be who she's finally going to become. A lot of who she is and the way she reacts to everything around her and all of her need to prove herself is wrapped up in her upbringing and the fact that her dad expected more from her than he truly should have. And the fact that that Lois didn't have a mom there to try to soften the blow. I think it may just be time to deal with it, to move her past that. That and Lois has always had such a love for her mom. I really wonder what they have planned.
That said, that's why I have an issue with the casting. And that's why the retcon irks me to no end.
