I have had this thing in the back of my mind so long! You were right; it was impossible to not do this once the song presented itself. And it's at just the right time, too. I've always imagined that there had to be just one time that something of this nature happened. Just once the two 'verses would converge.

And yes, that was a wink at all of you out there writing TEH SLASH. While it doesn't happen in our 'verses, it's a viable part of the fandom. We couldn't not let it be canon somewhere. And I wish we had been able to mention more of the versions. I was trying to mention Aftermath, but I think it would have killed this Lois to know that there are a couple worlds out there in which he actually came back after Doomsday when hers didn't.

And yep, that's exactly what we did. ;) Seemed the easiest way for it to fit canon. Originally, the plan was to make his 'verse go to SIV and have her pass the same way after then, but we didn't want to tread on another project's toes. ;)
