It really is epically amazing, isn't it? She utterly made my swoon and bite my lip over this one. And Christy's an amazing writer. Have you read Waiting On The Wind (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4858974/1/Waiting_On_The_Wind)? I nommed it for Best Overall Super-Short, but it was totally robbed. *makes face*

Christy's stuff has always been top-quality stuff, but some of her more recent fics have been seriously getting to me. I definitely feel as though she's hitting her stride. :D

Oh, Christy, I wish I could be as sweet as you are about the awards. I always worry that the quality of my work is slipping if I can't maintain the same amount each year. *is ashamed of herself*

-hugs again- Honey I decided when I first started writing fanfic that was I wasn't writing it for anyone but myself. Not that I don't want people to like it - of course that's always wonderful and I love making people happy - but I found myself prefectly miserable when I put my happiness into the hands of other people's opinions.

I only now have taken on Ella (who rocks my socks) as a beta because my own inabiluty to conjure proper grammar and spelling has begun to annoy ME. All the fics I've written I have written for me and I let the poor readers suffer my typos. If they liked it enough to suffer, great, but if not...I was still happy.

My darling darling Lois, if your writing makes you happy - that is the end of the conversation. We all evolve..I mean heck I have a beta now and I'm trying to actually learn what a preposition is, but don't let any one else's opinion of your work rob you of the joy of it. It stops being fun then and then it stops being worth it.

Your writing is just lovely! I've thoroughly enjoyed everything of yours I've written. You and Nissa are a fine wine in this fandom, getting better with ever story.

Don't worry about losing your edge. And if you do come to me and I shall sharpen you and encourage you. But please don't worry and for goodness sakes don't be ashemed.

I love you for the windiness. I hate that I do get that insecure about my work, but I guess it's what pushes me to be as good a writer as I strive to be. I really do love the stuff I've written and I do go back and read over it from time to time. I guess Charles is right; I do push myself too hard sometimes and maybe I expect too much.
