It was the same way with me and my mom. She was a wild child, so I was kept leashed b/c she didn't want me to turn out like she did. O_o It was very much angry-making for a long, long time (it STILL is, to a degree), and it always seemed like my dad had to step in and stand up for me. And she did the same thing to my sis, who wound up taking her favorite clothes with her to school and changing there.
Wow, I guess this chapter hit me a lot harder than I'd thought. No wonder I reacted so badly to that original fight where Lois slapped Kala. O_O
That probably also explains why I wrote Breaking Orbit about Joanna McCoy running away from her mom all the time. Sheesh.
