~There's A Place That I Know :: It's Not Pretty There and Few Have Ever Gone...~

Thank you! I actually survived it, though it was a nightmare and COMPLETELY disorganized and the lines were AWFUL with not enough crew. I'm not going to tell tales, but oh, do I have some to look back on.

Now to make it through the rest of the week. And I close Customer Service Friday night. Never been so grateful for those Saturdays off.

I want to thank all of you for the sweet Happy Birthdays I got yesterday and so I decided a present of a little Christmas might just be the right little pick-me-up and little gift to give back for it. Feeling a little up-in-the-air today myself, so I've been going through my HUGE music database. Some of you may have some of these from previous years, but I did add a few new tracks this time. Keep the favorites and added a some I just heard. :D

Go to Anissa's post and read all about it.  Not included: Lois' work-related fuckery.  It's the biggest retail holiday of the year coming up!  Guess which fucktard manager is trying to cut hours and not hire any new seasonal employees!  Guess which crew is ready to kill him, each other, and the customers!  (Why yes, this WAS posted by Anissa.  Two f-bombs in three sentences was your hint.)

*This is Lois dropping in about eight hours after the fact. Yeah, it's been pretty bad over here the last few weeks. I hate that we're blowing deadlines left and right, but the stress has been just too damn much lately. Between the both of us being sick and Anissa's dad being worse and worse off and things at my job being worse than insane, nothing has really gotten done on the current stories. It's just been enough to beat the hell out of some of our muses.

This isn't to say that we don't plan to be back to the grind shortly, but it may take a little longer. There's no plan to drop everything, and I have gotten a couple of questions about that from some fandom quarters, but it may be a little closer to Christmas before everything is back in complete order. I hate it, but it honestly can't be helped at the moment.

Yes, it's that bad over here right now. I hadn't planned to share, but being this disorganized isn't like me and I didn't want to keep my readers and friends and family hanging. So nope, I'm not going anywhere. The writing will be back, but maybe a little slower than I'd like. And yeah, rough times. We'll survive this. We always do. *winks at saavikam77* 

I just got a text telling me that we're going to be receiving 700 pieces of freight nightly this week at the job.

For those of you that don't work retail, that's a lot. Especially if you only have a four-man crew to work it and then backstock it at night and you're part of that crew. Don't fool yourselves that BB&B has a separate cleaning and stock crew. It's all done by the employees you see working through the store. WE are the ones that do all of it.

I tell you this because there's NO WAY that we're going to manage an Across the Universe chapter this week with me under the gun like this. We also have the opener to Love and Other Headaches to get finished and to beta and I don't know if we'll manage that either, even with it more than a third done.

Start week on LaOH, BTW, is being stated as November 19. It would be sooner, but all of the RL stuff keeps mucking with us. But rest assured, the muses are wide-awake and talking. It's just the fact that I'm not home enough to keep the ball rolling as much as I'd like.

So, yeah. No ATU this week, but it shall return next Saturday. LaOH is set to roll out on Saturday the 19th.

saavikam77, we're still full-steam-ahead on our stuff as it's bouncing back and forth. And it's the only thing keeping me sane. *smishes*

Being eaten alive by arriving Christmas freight, low morale, and general occupation madness in greater magnitudes than usual.

Now, jammed thumb or no jammed thumb, I'm going enjoy the next two days. Only one more gruesome shift before it's all over. Thank God.

I love you all so much! I hope this Christmas Day is full of enough light and laughter to make the darkness of the rest of the year nothing to be remembered. I love you all very much and expect to see our little 12days_of_clois  fic before tomorrow night.

And totally fucking determined not to give a damn about anyone pissed about yesterday. I will get in, get through, go home, actually enjoy Christmas, and forget that God-forsaken place exists for two days before I do the last blast on Sunday.

That is all. I will frikkin' do this.

Two days to Christmas Eve and I can officially call this as the worst Christmas I've had in all my years of retail. Not business-wise. God, no. Business-wise, sales are up everywhere. I mean for the employees. I've never been so exhausted. I will not be doing retail next year if it's going to be like this. I've had enough.

And so help me God, if one more person tells me that we should be thrilled that spending is up because we're lucky to have jobs in the first place, I'm going to punch them in the mouth Mad Dog Lane-style. Seriously? There are so few of us right now that we're trying to do the job of three to four people with one and no significant pay raise. Please don't ask me to be grateful.

ETA: Nevermind on that. My cold exploded on me and I was weeping with pain. Ended up telling them that I HAD to go home. The MOD's pissed, but my co-workers understand. Did I mention a panic attack there, too? Yeah.
