~There's A Place That I Know :: It's Not Pretty There and Few Have Ever Gone...~

To both want there to be more hours in the day and want the rest of this month to be over already? *makes face*

Also, I know this is going to annoy you guys, but we're going to have to push deadline back a week because of the awards. We just have WAAAAAY too many balls in the air, one of which is the very end of our 12days_of_clois fic and I will not be late for the first time ever. And I really want the chance to look at this chapter really hard since there seem to have been issues with the last one. We're far too close to the end to have this come out wrong. So the next chapter of Heirs will be on Saturday the 3rd. We'll be posting Living Like We're Dying, our epilogue to Superman IV, this weekend. And then vacation, which means we'll totally charge up o0ur emotional and writerly batteries. I'm so sorry, all of you, but I just don't like leaving you with a rushed chapter that doesn't jell. Love me still?

It's Tuesday of a new posting week and we're already three scenes into the new chapter, at 2,600 words, and we're working on a Cloisy skinny-dipping oneshot that's already at almost 1,000 words. I also have plans to get This Strange Effect and Need You Now caught up soon.

Work is ass, but the writing is going well. And, really, that's all that matters until we leave for Asheville next month for Anissa's birthday. I'm thinking about adding a countdown clock just to remind me that rest is near.

So, back to work today and expecting to hear a ration of it for calling out on Friday. Nothing I can do for it and I still show the signs of being sick. *shrug* What can you do? I'm hitting this thing with everything I have so I'm germ-free when I meet up with glitter_my_glam  and classicawesome  on Saturday. I just wish I knew for sure which co-worker gave it to me, because this is miserable enough that I'd whack them with a shovel. *makes face*

Chapter's doing well, but we're really going to have to punch it to get everything done in time. And I, cold and all, haven't been much help. :( But it will get out this week, come hell or high water. There's so much getting ready to happen that I really don't want to lose my rhythm at any point. Things just need to bear forward without any reservations on my part. It's time to get to the heart of this story, no matter how nervous it makes me. It's time.

*glances at the clock* Dammit. Time already. Not looking forward to today at all. Wish me luck. *chokes off coughing fit*

( A Battle of Wills )

The only bad in the fact that we stopped to work for the Fest is that Heirs may run late. We're hoping not, but it's become a possibility. We are actively working on it, but managing 12,000 words on two stories last week may end up being a handicap. I'll let you know as the week wears on.

It's Thursday. 4,574 words. Anissa's sicker today. We still have to flesh out a few scenes. Will we make it to deadline? Not sure. If we don't, we'll only be a few days late. I know we're not going to hold it another two weeks, as it's mostly done. And once we have this one in the can, we're starting the next one plus a little LS oneshot. *crosses fingers*

I'll give you an update at the end of tonight.

I am so behind on everything at the moment. And the next couple of days are going to be a roller coaster. Wish me luck, guys. If I can get through the next four days, I can do anything.

maaike_fluffy , my darling, I promise you a reply and a long talk after this. I'm not ignoring you, promise. *snugs* And the Fic Grab fic, Wintersong, is going pretty well, if my Lois muse would just give me the explanation for the middle of the fic. I have the beginning and the end, but she just doesn't want to talk about feelings yet. *rolls eyes* You wait, she'll decide she wants to talk after I have a bad night around Tuesday or Wednesday. Which is exactly the time the fic is set, literally a couple of days before Christmas. I loove her so much. Seriously. *pokes the fussy bitch* Give me a until tomorrow afternoon and I'll put up a spoiler.

The chapter also moves onward and will be posted this weekend. Although we need to negotiate with our betas on when would be a good time to get it in by. It may not be posted until late Saturday due to Christmas being the day before. 

I hope you guys are having a wonderful holiday, even you dirty buggers with 15+ inches of snow. I love you, anyway. :D ;)

Working retail around the holidays sucks like Electrolux. And that ain't a good thing. Lois is now scheduled til midnight every night she works, they're making her work on Christmas Eve, and to top it all off, Fucktard Manager is trying to keep her 'til ONE FREAKING A.M. I am gonna drive my car through the front doors one night, I swear. The crew mutinied against him tonight and left at 12:30, half an hour later than scheduled. FUCK YOU, FUCKTARD MANAGER. Try writing her up for it, I'll march my bitchy PMSing ass into that store and pimpslap you clear into next week.

ETA: She will not be working til 1 AM on Christmas Eve.  They're forcing her to come in 2 hours BEFORE her scheduled availability and working until 8 or 9 PM at the latest. 

Ahem. Anyway, this is leaving us with precious little time to do, well, anything. We got the tree up and lit, and the outside lights put up (in fucking 80 degree sweaty weather, which also sucks), but the ornaments are not yet on it. And I don't think any of our gifts are wrapped. Most of mine haven't been BOUGHT yet.

As for writing, well, being forced to work for complete morons for more hours than you expect tends to kill your muse. And in my case, frothing in impotent rage at my inability to cram some motherfreaking SENSE into Lois' bosses' minds has the same effect. So our progress on the current chapter of Heirs to the House of El has not exactly progressed. We're due this weekend, and it's just not gonna happen.

On the other hand, our oneshots for 12days_of_clois are almost complete. So we're gonna flip it, and post the oneshot this weekend, the chapter next week. As of now, it looks as though we'll be back to a normal posting schedule with a chapter on the first of January.

Thanks for your patience, folks. We both HATE delaying a chapter, but sometimes it's inevitable. Real life has a way of riding roughshod over your good intentions.

Come on, guys! We could have so much fun with this!
