Just got notice from dot.moon that Heirs to the House of Elwas nommed for this year's awards! That, guys, makes a bad week a little better to swallow. I must be doing something right. right?
*crosses fingers that this is a sign for the later awards*
It's definitel making me feel better about this year after how awful the final results were over at the SMFA last year. I really can't see how that could have been any more embarassing. And this is twice now that we've been nommed at DotMoon. Someone over there likes us. :D
I don't get it, either. It's not not having won most of them at all; it's more like, how did we get over 20 noms and only get three? It felt...weird. I wouldn't have minded if there had been like five noms and two wins. But that much of a difference? I just felt a little crushed, almost like I was made to fall. I don't know. It just hurts a little.
I'll be honest, after last year's final results, I'm looking forward to it less than ever. *shuffles feet* It was pretty embarrassing for us. Maybe this year will look better.
I don't know why, but I can't help looking forward to them, I just really want to see what's nommed and how much people think of my fics in the past year. It's a great place for recs as well.
*hugs* There's no embarrassment in losing to a worthy opponent. Just think of all the decent authors who got outsold by Twilight, now that's something to be embarrassed about (although I'd just be pissed personally- that series has me losing faith in the next generation already)
Congratulations. You guys really deserve it. I'm not surprised. I'm just lucky enough to have found fan fiction, starring Superman, written by two of the best authors out there. It's also nice that through you I know of some of the other great authors as well. I say a little friendly competition breeds excellence for the fans :) Thank you so very much for your contribution to the Superman multiverse.
P.S. Even though no one may ever read it, I'm still writing :)
Charles, how is it with every comment you make, you leave me specchless with gradititude? This really takes the sting out of last year for me. *hugs*
And I'm so glad to have been your gateway to the fandom world. There really is so much out there. I'm only really showing you guys a slice of what's available. :D
*gentle prodding* You know, I once said the same thing. Who knows the audience you could have? I didn't. ;)
