WTFH, WB! FAIL!

The CW has just announced that "Smallville" WILL NOT return on Friday, January 28th as previously planned, but will now return a week later on February 4th.

 

Please note the following changes to the FRIDAY NIGHT schedule:

 

• On Friday, January 28, (8:00-9:00 p.m.) an encore of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES episode titled "The Descent" will air in place of the previously announced SMALLVILLE episode titled "Collateral."

   

• On Friday, January 28 (9:00-10:00 p.m.) an encore of the NIKITA episode titled "Free" will air in place of the previously announced SUPERNATURAL episode titled "Like a Virgin."

   

• The revised Friday night schedule for January 28, February 4 and February 11 follows below.

  Also, please note the following changes to schedule on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2:

   

• From 8:00-9:00 p.m., an encore of the SMALLVILLE episode "Icarus" will air in place of the previously announced episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES titled "The Descent."

   

• From 9:00-10:00 p.m., an encore of the SUPERNATURAL episode titled "Appointment in Samarra" will air in place of the previously announced NIKITA episode titled "Free."

So to clarify, "Smallville" Season 10, Episode 12 - "Collateral" will now air on Friday, February 4th. "Smallville" Season 10, Episode 13 - "Beacon" will now air on Friday, February 11th.

I knew it. I had wondered if the CW was going to try to postpone "Beacon," given the episode's subject matter is similar to recent real life events.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with the schedule change at all, but SPOILER ALERT, Martha (who is a Senator) gets shot in 'Beacon' and the official description of that episode came out right after Congresswoman Gaby Giffords was shot. :\ A lot of people speculated it would be postponed for that reason. It could also just be that they are trying to load sweeps time with more new episodes. Don't know. I only keep tabs on what footage is coming up that I can use for vids and don't watch the new eps anymore.

Yeah I heard about this last night and did some righteous fist shaking at an unfair universe. I mean both SV and SPN delayed? Dudes. Just. Way to fail WB. Way to fail.

What hurts the most is that one of the replacement shows is Nikita, which dude. Seriously. Way to twist the knife. (Goes off to pout and pine for Roy Dupree)

I've also heard that it's b/c CW doesn't want to compete with Idol for viewers on Thursday night, b/c they're trying to get more viewers for TVD and Nikita (since SV and SPN are winding down).

CW FAILS AGAIN..!! I can understand about 'Beacon' and distanciing it from real life events, but shuffling the schedule like this makes no sense to me.

I didn't know this was going on until I excitedly sat down to watch Smallville and had the Vamps pop up on my screen instead! I was SOOOOOO disappointed! I needed some Superman tonight!
