kalalanekent: (Lois OMGWTF?!)

OK, faithful readers, chp 54 is off to the beta team!  Little Wonders tops out at 6,143 words and 12 pages.  We'll post later today, and we hope you all enjoy this week's offering.

The bad news is, we have no internet connection!  &%3#%#$$%^^(*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  OMGWTFBBQ!  It's too early to work up a proper rant, but trust us, we're ticked.  Fear not, friends and readers, we're using Anissa's Mom's computer (THANKS MOM, YOU RULE!!!!) to upload the chapter and such.  We should have the 'net back by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Oh, and in another OMGWTF moment, guess what flew onto our screened back porch yesterday afternoon?  A hawk.  How freakin' cool is that?  Not sure what species (will look it up as soon as I find my Peterson's Field Guide), but he apparently flew through the lack of a door (I used to have a German Shepherd who disliked doors - he destroyed several).  Once on the porch, the  hawk couldn't figure out how to get back out.  I was going to try covering him with a bath towel and carrying him out, but he panicked and flew across the porch fast enough to hit the elderly screen window and rip right through.  Who gives a darn about a gaping hole in the screen when you get to see a wild hawk from 2 feet away?

K, I'm going home and going to bed.  This post obviously written by the Voice of (very sleepy) Doom.

Wow, a hawk? Hope it didn't hurt itself flying through the screen, but how exciting for you. *grins*

The latest 'Little Wonders'? Love the title and the teaser was sweet. Can't wait.

Wow, how cool, a hawk. I wonder if it could have been a sharp shinned hawk? They look like a small red tail hawk and have gold eyes. They come to backyards to prey on song birds at feeders. They have visited us during spring and fall migration. We have also been able to watch them make a kill. I didn't know that birds could move through a pine tree SO fast. What a special treat to see one that close and to save it's life.

Coulda been. I remember the back as being more light tan than grayish, and I don't seem to remember the tail being as heavily barred. Will check my field guide - and since our screen is ancient, I think he busted through safely.

Ooh, that's awesome about the hawk - I'd be excited too. I love wildlife - last year when I spent the summer working in Yellowstone was amazing because I saw all kinds of wildlife. I miss that living here!

Sucks about the internet connection - hope that gets sorted out soon!

*hugs*

No LS today? *bawls like a baby* But it's the highlight of my week! Poot.

On the other hand, birds are pretty.

We had one fly in one night, but no one knew it until my brother stepped on it in the dark of the bathroom...
