~There's A Place That I Know :: It's Not Pretty There and Few Have Ever Gone...~

STOP the destruction of Fanfiction.net!

Ever since it was opened, Fanfiction.NET had always been a place for avid fans-- of ANYTHING-- to feel at home. To express whatever is on our minds and truly let our love for characters, plotlines and scenarios shine through.

Now all of a sudden, FF.net has decided to go through a massive upheaval and remove thousands of stories from its library, some of the best fanfics ever written, gone, never to be read again. They are removing anything involving sexual situations, or violence, or inspired by a song, the list goes on. And we as readers see this as a gross waste of talent and incredible material.

Fanfiction.net has always been a place for us writers to 'Unleash our imagination' as the tagline states, and now we are having that right to freedom of speech and expression taken away from us. Since when are they allowed to dictate what goes into our stories? They are OUR pieces of work. What if the violence or sexual content is part of the plotline? This whole situation is absurd. There are better ways to deal with 'inappropriate' content than to remove it altogether. What about adult filters? Age restrictions? There are so many other options!!

So I'm asking please, for all us readers, writers, and fans alike... STOP THE DESTRUCTION OF FF.NET!!!!

Now what is THIS foolishness? There have been far too many changes to the site in the last bit. I'm going to be adding my stuff, slowly but surely to AO3, but there are far too many readers AND writers in the fandom over there for us to just ignore the threat.

Considering downloading the Keaton Batman for inclusion in a video to All The Right Moves. He's always been my Batman, but I let myself get talked out of using him for So Close. Might be worth my while to make this one. Would be set after SII. We'll see how it goes.

Also, obviously have the 'net back. It was a glitch. Clearwire helped Anissa fix it and it was something pretty mild. Thank God. *heaves sigh of relief* I HATE going without the 'net when I have work to do!

All kind of family drama this week and I realized yet again just how much I love the majority of my family and just how willing to fight for them I am. One individual has pretty much blown her chances with me, but she's making everyone else so miserable that we're blocking her out for now. Everyone please pray that she gets her head out of her ass some day soon and that it happens before she wrecks her life. *glares in T's direction*

I also feel awful going on a trip to the mountains when everyone is having such a hard times, but I haven't had a real break since October, that trip just made the stress worse, and it's Anissa's birthday present. I think I'm just going to not bring it up until we leave. No one's begrudging us it; it's just that I see how badly Mom, Dad, and April need a break. I SO wish I was making better money. I want to take care of them so much better than I currently can. It just kills me to see them struggle.

Buuuuuut, in lighter news, how's about this?
