Thrown For A Loop (The End of BlueTights.net)

Despite the fact that I stopped being a regular over there for a long time and only in the last few months started posting there again, it was with shock and completely mixed emotions that I read this tonight.

Before LJ, before FF.net, little old me started out as a member of the website when it first transformed from a fan-film site to an actual full-fledged website. It was there that I got the guts to start writing my first Superman fanfic, it was there that I met a bunch of you for the first time, it was there that we all waited with baited breath for the first tiny spoilers for SR, it was there that we all discovered that Bryan Singer was reading the forums and was the reason that all our little in-jokes make it into the film. We were family there, albeit a dysfunctional one. So much good in what I know of the fandom came from my first year or so at BT.

It's the end of an era, my friends. And I'll never forget the memories. Thanks, Justin, for having given us this six years. It was an honor and a privilege to have been a part of it.

So sad. I joined way after the movie hype had dies down but I loved the fanfic section. I'm really going to miss it over there.

The fanfic section had its own special little family and I can totally see why you loved it so. Me and Ella started out there, remember? We know just how you feel. *hugs you tight*
