Another one of them lost to us forever. I got this news later than everyone else, having had to go off to work yesterday without the chance to check the news, but it just wounds me to have seen that we lost Ms. York at 72. She'll be remembered by us all for the 100 film projects she left behind, as well as her stage work. But for we Superman fans, she'll always be that loving mother, so scared to sent her child to an unknown world that may or may not accept her precious little boy, who would be the last of his race.

Rest in Peace, Susannah. You will always be loved and missed.

Not too many people within the new members of the fandom even knew who he was, but he was a briiliant and well-seasoned screen writer, a very warm and human man, and much loved by those within the Reeveverse Family. My condolences to to Margot, Dick, his family, and the many thousands of fans out there that knew his worth not only on Superman, but so many others. Mank, you were an inspiration I won't soon forget and the world is that much darker without your presence. I only wish I had had the chance to meet you. We, as a new generation of the fandom, didn't get the time with you we would have wished for.  We'll try to keep an eye out for Dick and Margot for you.

Rest in peace, sir. We of the Old Guard will miss you terribly.

Despite the fact that I stopped being a regular over there for a long time and only in the last few months started posting there again, it was with shock and completely mixed emotions that I read this tonight.

Before LJ, before FF.net, little old me started out as a member of the website when it first transformed from a fan-film site to an actual full-fledged website. It was there that I got the guts to start writing my first Superman fanfic, it was there that I met a bunch of you for the first time, it was there that we all waited with baited breath for the first tiny spoilers for SR, it was there that we all discovered that Bryan Singer was reading the forums and was the reason that all our little in-jokes make it into the film. We were family there, albeit a dysfunctional one. So much good in what I know of the fandom came from my first year or so at BT.

It's the end of an era, my friends. And I'll never forget the memories. Thanks, Justin, for having given us this six years. It was an honor and a privilege to have been a part of it.

You were not the perfect model of a man, but you were real to me and my favorite of the crew on Deadliest Catch. And I really hope there's caffeine and cigarettes in heaven.

RIP: Captain Phil Harris
