*is still getting over the shock* That...didn't turn out quite the way we expected.

Really.

I'm still trying to get over the huge honor that you guys have given us. Really. We've never experienced an awards where we were quite so decorated. I felt like I was holding my breath to just get a few this year. And then you gifted us with so many. I have to pinch myself to believe it. We both feel a little like Cinderella and we love you all SO DAMN MUCH for it.

On the other hand, those we were competing against were the best authors in the fandom this time around. Are there others that surpass us in writing ability? I know so. Hell, the fans wouldn't have nommed them if they weren't. We were extremely lucky to have squeaked in with just the right amount. I want to give highest props to all the authors and the fans that took the time to make all of us feel extraordinarily lucky to be so loved. Every one of you is utterly amazing and we're so blessed to have you in fandom.

LONG LIVE THE SUPERMAN FANDOM, IN ALL ITS INCARNATIONS!

It's June, everyone! What does that mean? Well, in Florida it means temperatures in the 90s, a humidity close to 100%, and giant cockroaches trying to invade your home.

But in Superman Movieverse fandom, it means AWARDS TIME!

The fourth annual Superman Movieverse Fanfiction Awards will begin nominations on Monday, June 7th. Keep your eyes on

supes_mv_awards for more details, but I do have a couple spoilers for you!

This year brdwaybebe is in charge of the awards - htbthomas and bistyboo1974 are stepping down after three years of hard work on the awards they originally devised. Thanks are in order for all three of these wonderful ladies!
Two new awards will be given this year: Best Beta and Best Reviewer.

So start thinking about which stories you'd like to nominate. And authors, start compiling your lists of eligible stories! Make life easier on those nominators.

Remember, any completed story or work in progress is eligible regardless of length or rating, so long as it meets these two criteria: it must be primarily based in the Superman Movieverse (the films Superman the Movie, Superman II, Superman III, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, and/or Superman Returns), and it must have been written or had significant additions (new chapters count, edits of pre-existing work do not) between June 1st, 2009 and June 31st, 2010.

So it seems like it's Awards season already. *hides and goes to get the Tums* I'm not going to be promoting this year, due to a little incident on f_s and the fact that I don't want to be accused of having the popularity vote again, but I want all of you to get out there and READ and nom some new writers! I'm going to set aside some time to really look closer at the fic available so I can do even more noms than last year (and yes, I nom every year in nearly every catagory.)

Let's really try to make things be fandom-wide this year. You love a fic that's amazing, but the author isn't well-known? REC IT! Let us all see. That's the whole point of the awards. To show the writers how much we love their work! And I know from experience just how amazing it is to know that people love and appreciate the hard work you do. I'll never forget the shock and surprise of the first awards season; I couldn't get over the fact that Little Secrets was that well-loved. Let someone else out there feel that awed and amazed. Stand up and make your opinion known.

Now, if you need me, I'll be hiding in the basement with my antacid. *slinks away*
