What do we want!?
Superman Returns: The Bryan Singer Cut!
When do we want it?!
YESTERDAY!
I'm not even going to bother to go over my word count allowance on this post to tell you why this is important. You all know why. Those that read the novelization or the shooting script know what we missed out on. We know.
And, in case you don't, there are a million tiny little 'moments' between the characters we never got to see. And, if that doesn't move you, I have four little words:
RETURN TO KRYPTON FOOTAGE!

We're Behind You, Brandon!

On The Planet, or more specifically BR.C, fans of Superman Returns have begun a letter and email campaign to WB express their support of Brandon Routh, and their wish that he keep the role. I want to spread this message as far and wide as possible, especially here on LiveJournal where I know there is a large community of SR and Brandon fans. Even though it appears we will no longer get our long-promised sequel, and petition campaigns are rarely successful, we still want to put our disappointment to good use rather than passively accepting WB's rash and possibly disastrous course of action. So please, SR fans, help us by doing your part and vocalizing your support! All information and discussion can be found here: http://www.bluetights.net/theplanet/sho
The first post contains almost everything you need to know, but emails for the heads of WB are available on the second page, and right here: jeff.robinov@warnerbros.com and alan.horn@warnerbros.com.
Spread the word like a virus! Post about this in your own journals! You never know the power of fans unless you speak up and try. ;)
We all know that I personally would like to hand Warner their ass right about now. This is just just foolish and wasteful, if the rumors are true (I'm trying to stay hopeful! *hugs her

I wash my hands of you once and for all if any of these rumors are true. I'm so sickened by all of this that I have no words. I think a part of me died inside to see what you're doing to this franchise and the fact that you are willing to stoop so low as to reboot a reboot rather than use your brain to find a plausible way to marry what the current canon is with what you want the frachise to achieve. And make it darker? WTMFH!?! He's not dark! What, because it worked for Batman, you're going to try it with a character that has always been the light of the DCU?
That said, know that you WILL NOT get a red cent of my money on the project. As far as I'm concerned, SR will be the end of the line for me. The Reeveverse and SR will remain my canon and God bless Brandon and Bryan for their vision. I will not let you ruin this series for me.
Thank God, Little Secrets didn't depend on an SR sequel, although it breaks my heart that we'll never see how that series would have ended.
No love (and more than enough bitter disgust),
Me
ETA: After reading your entry on it,

ETA II: For those still posting comments on this thread, I will be replying. It's just that I'm trying to get my head together enough to not act like a psycho and fan the flames too much. I'm trying to get my faith back that they won't completely gut the film. *takes deep breath*

Oh, and...
Dear WB,
You have always been my absolutely favorite studio, bar none, since I was a child. You have always impressed me with the quality of films you have put out over the years. But this is the most foolish thing I have seen you do. Hot on the heels of a huge success with The Dark Knight, too. Fans of Harry Potter, a series which has always traditionally been a huge box-office draw for you at Christmastime with families, are now going to be forced to wait an extra seven months, at the least, for a film they were promised would be released in two months. Shame on you. Have you any clue how many fans you are disappointing, this writer included? Not to mention all of those that have already made plans for meet-ups within the fandom. For shame.
And then, to add insult to injury, you are going to try to make it up by releasing Twilight, which has had so much publicity recently early? What is that? Just because the final book was just released, you're going to try to rush it in for a quick buck? I apologize for thinking you knew better. Also keep in mind that that might just be a little stupid, considering that a good portion of fans have been horribly disappointed by the final book. How many tickets might that lose you?
As for your excuse of having no large film for summer...
*takes a deep breath to calm herself*
*doesn't know if she can do it*
ETA: I stand corrected on the studio for Twilight, thanks to chickadilly. That was actually the thing that made me the least angry, but now that makes me all the more bitter. Idiots.
ETAAGAIN: I'm adding a graphic that Lea found on another site to throw in the fandom's feelings.

And the torture continues
Jun. 8th, 2007 02:05 pmIn other news, the good news, Chapter Forty-Four is at 3,206 words and seven pages. We plan to add another 2,000 words onto it this evening. And it has made me cry. Several times. And a good portion of it over one tiny word. I really love this chapter and have been waiting to get here for a very, very long time. And now things get really good, depending on your point of view. :D
And here's that spoiler I've been wheedled about all week ;):
B, should be in your inbox on time this evening! Abby, you'll get it as well!
ETA: OMG, look at Brandon! These pics were nabbed from www.supermanhomepage.com and are of Our Boy at the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation's Third Anniversary Gala, Making Magic Happen, in LA. Look at that hair! Abby, breathe! And all of you stop making cracks about the name of the event where Brandon's concerned! *points accusing finger at most of her F-list*
