Wow, I did not see that coming. Not at all. Especially since he's British. But that said, I can see why he was the one chosen. I'm so sad to see Brandon's time in the role end, as I personally loved his performance, but I also see how they're trying to distance themselves from Superman Returns. Again, I think it's stupid and wasteful, but we can't stop them, can we? I can only hope that they play things right this time. Now I just hold my breath until Lois is cast. Oh dear Lord, this is casting I can live with, PLEASE don't let them screw up on Lois.

Shut the front door! He's *gorgeous*! Not that Brandon wasn't, but glad he was picked! He was fabulous in The Tudors! Now for Lois... who's in the running?

Oh, he is. Henry was always gorgeous. I think I'm more nervous over his picking up the Midwestern accent or going without one at all. I think he's more than capable of being up to the task. It really depends on the script.

Oh, God, I'm not even sure. I'm too scared to see. Although I have to say, based solely on looks, I kinda like the thought of Zooey Deschanel playing her. If Superman's going to be a Brit, I wanna go with an American Lois Lane. One of them should be. I'm just too scared to truly root for someone yet.

When I read the news, I said, "Henry who?" until I saw his face, remembered him The Tudors, and went... *utter jawdrop*

Damn if I'm not starting to have more confidence in this project each time an announcement is made. Cross our fingers and knock on wook, but I think they're definitely on the right track.

As for Lois, I think that a spitfire à la Rachel MacAdams could also be an interesting choice. She was really good as a reporter in State of Play, and was more than able to hold her own against Russell Crowe, as well, which gives us an idea of how Perry-Lois dynamics could be.

XD I'm really hoping that they don't crush we fans in the end. I'm just too nervous over all of it too get too invested just yet.

I like Rachel McAdams, but I have a few from a short list that I'm rooting for...as soon as I feel like it would be safe to do so. God, I just don't want them to pick someone entirely incorrect for her or someone that has no chemistry with Cavill. The chemistry is ESSENTIAL!

I know you've already cast your vote, I understand your reasoning about Rashida Jones and I'm not trying to convince you or anything if you're set on your point of view, because I'm not like that at all.

No, no, it's perfectly fine. The main argument I have against Rachel is that people know who she is. The inevitable issue is that she'll be seen as 'Rachel McAdams as Lois Lane' rather than 'Lois Lane'. I think that's the reason that I'd rather have Rashida or an unknown. I really want someone that I'll really identify with as the character without thinking too hard about her other work. And I will admit, a small part of me would really like to see Rashida get the part because she reminds me of Margot.

I will say, though, that Rachel does look the part and she is a really talented actress. I wouldn't be too unhappy if she got the role.

I would tap that soVERYhard. He is just... UNF. If he only puts on as much burly & brawny as Tom Welling, he miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be a hotter Clark than Welling. Maybe. Welling's got an awfully lovely amount of burly & brawny & guh.

While I love the idea of Michelle Rodriguez as Lois Lane, I know it's never going to happy. Zooey Deschanel is a little too big-eyed & bushy-tailed for me but Emily might be okay. Someone suggested Rashida Jones & I can't unsee it. :DD

XD We had him cast for someone in our original fiction, so I have no choice but to agree. He's REALLY gonna need to bulk up for this. And I don't know that anyone will measure up to my love of Tom. Then again, he's one of a kind. And my Jason, so I'm biased. :D

Awww! I like the thought of Michelle, too, but yeah. Maybe if they did a live-action All-Star Superman. ;) I can see you on Zooey, but it's the quirky angle I was looking at. I think Emily may be too buttoned-up. And I did see that for Rashida and I agree that she'd be a good choice, but there's also the fact that one of them ought to be American, especially since Henry isn't. Which sounds weird to say, but yeah. I'd like one of them to be.

I know how you feel. And I kinda feel the same. It infuriates me that they only used him for one film and then dropped him. There's no reason that Brandon couldn't carry on at all, except that WB banished all traces of Singer's film. *grits teeth* Yes, I'm actually pretty annoyed by that.

I am sad Brandon is not going to play the role again, as I thought he was fantastic...*sigh* But I am trying to be optomistic. Maybe he's fantastic and will be THE definitive Superman even outdoing Christopher Reeve himself...but probably not. I hope it's good, I'll still go see it.

I'm hoping for Rachel McAdams as Lois. I really REALLY hope they don't F-up that casting choice. Please get Lois right guys...please!

I just hope that, in the end, he really was the best choice for the role. And no one can outdo Reeve. Period. ;) Brandon, too, will always hold a place in my heart.

*winces* I...don't know that I'm on-board with McAdams. Then again, I'm not sure I approve of any of the American actresses in the running. Having been burned so bad with the last one, I'm looking hard at unknowns and a certain British actress. I'd love for her to be American, but I just haven't seen anyone I approve of.

I never watched The Tudors--apart from the odd episode that I caught when switching channels--so I don't know Henry, but he looks drool-worthy on the pic. :) It's just... I dunno... him being pretty is not the most important thing. I first want to see him do both Clark and Superman convincingly, then I'll decide if I like this cast...

I've actually watched him in several projects over the years and I'm pretty okay with him in the acting arena. I never expected him to be the final choice, but it's the second time he's gone out for the role. I can see him being able to exhibit the range we expect. I'm fairly certain he'll make me proud.

And you KNOW it's not all about the looks for me. It has to be the whole package before I put my stamp of approval on it. ;)
